ps|ocm - General Overview and How to Obtain

About

ps|ocm (Programming Science Offline Content Manager) is a new application currently under development. It will allow you to edit simple plain text files that are logically organized and then compile these files into a full web site that can be uploaded to your web hosting provided as content is added. The advantages to this method include having full control of what is published on your site as well as having better performance from the server as it does not have to create pages as they are requested -- it just needs to serve the page that is already there and complete.

As this software is still under development, we are unable to show you a complete product, but the documentation is being produced and published as it is being programmed to give you a feel for what the end product will look like. Feel free to poke around and let us know if you have any questions or want to be the first to know when it is published.

Obtaining ps|ocm

ps|ocm will be easily downloaded for free from a link below once available (Beginner Version with no registration required). This is where you will start with to make sure you like the software. You will also be able to download the most recent version at any time and receive a free upgrade (also without registering). Should you enjoy the software after it is released and wish to support its future development or to gain the additional features from the Professional version, you will be able to upgrade at any time by following the link in the Professional section, below.

Beginner Version (Free to Use)

Once the software is published, here is where you will be able to download the Beginner version. It will be completely free to use and upgrade and is where you will start to make sure you enjoy the software. It will feature the following:

Easy to use folder layout and plain text file editing
Ability to write articles organized by topic
Index page based on key words

Once published, a download link will be made available.

Professional Version

After trying the Beginner version, you may wish to upgrade to the professional version to obtain these additional features:

Ability to add advertisements to your pages
Ability to remove 'Powered by ps|ocm' from the page footers of your site

The current plan is to offer the Professional version for a one time charge of $25.00 USD which includes free upgrades. Once published, a link will be made available for you to purchase ps|ocm.

Customizing ps|ocm

While ps|ocm is designed to be flexible and easily configured, it may not meet your exact needs. If you wish to have a customized version of ps|ocm that is used to compile your web site to your exact specifications, we will offer a service to modify the source code for ps|ocm and deliver to you a customized version. Once published, this option will be made available as well.
